Most projects completed within budget and on-time with no more than 5% deviation permitted. I am experienced with US Coast Guard regulations for domestic marine vessel loading facilities as well as international Canadian requirements. Experience has provided me with knowlegable of current EPA regulations including MACT and GD-GACT.

I managed the design and implementation of experimental projects for the John Zink Company Research and Development Test Facilty. I worked directly with test engineers, technicians and contractors to complete test setups for customer visits. Testing equipment included boiler burners, process burners, flares and thermal oxidizers. I worked closely with facility maintenance team members to improve the mechanical integrity of test facilty instrument air and steam utilities.

Primary responsibilities included providing plant engineering design, project management and improving equipment reliability for three high volume nonwoven material production lines. Total focus was given to safety, quality, cost and productivity requirements. Strong 2-D and 3-D CAD design skills were utilized to develop technical sketches and models for both components and assemblies. Effective written and verbal communication was used when presenting complex concepts during design reviews. Expense and capital projects (<$250k) were managed from initial concept scope development through accurate estimating, appropriation request, design, procurement, contractor construction/installation and start-up. Lean manufacturing tools including 5S, TPM and Hoshin Planning were practiced daily. Technical support was provided to internal maintenance, production and marketing team members as well as locations worldwide. I directly supervised four boiler operators who were responsible for all steam and plant air operations.

Designed and managed all new and existing tooling and dies for the Danaher Tool Group Cold Form Process consisting of three 1000-ton Grabener progressive die presses and two Minster piece-maker presses. Using Six Sigma statistical analysis tools, I improved tooling life and performance of machines by completing design improvements and eliminating unnecessary costs.

Primary responsibilities included plant engineering design and project management for the Lion Oil Company refinery. Projects specific to completing capital improvements to the facilities designed to generate revenue, meet operating necessities, address safety needs,and meet regulatory requirements. This includes the investigation of process, operability, mechanical, structural, safety, environmental, and controls issues. Completed projects with the process safety manager to identify critical equipment for the Lion Oil mechanical integrity program. Prepared and reviewed equipment specifications including pressure vessels, pumps, heat exchangers, piping, valves, and other various types of equipment. Provided support to the engineering and maintenance departments to implement a new computerized maintenance management system. Reviewed commercial bids, prepared and issued technical drawings to the construction group and provided ongoing support from initial planning to startup for a wide variety of projects.
