I currently teach special education and social studies classes in a high school setting.

I taught at both the HS & Intermediate levels.

I was a special education/inclusion teacher in grades 9-12.

Responsibilities: - Taught as a teacher trainer for multiple 10-day Chinese English teacher’s professional development courses. - Developed and taught lessons in the Western cultural module. - Presented on various topics including: Western teaching customs and philosophy, educational games, teaching with media, using technology in the classroom and student engagement.

Responsibilities: - Taught a multicultural group of students various social studies content classes including: politics/government, world history, AP World History, AP US History and global studies. - Attended and participated in weekly administrative meetings with school administrators. - Conducted monthly administrative meetings with teachers communicating school goals, school policy, assessment results, student achievement and student behavior.     - Created and conducted in-house teacher professional development for Mongolian staff covering the topics of  Western teaching philosophy and struggling learners/students with learning disabilities.    - Teacher Leadership Roles:  Teacher Advisor-Student Council 2012- 2014, High School Debate Coach 2013-2015, Model UN Coach 2013-2015

Responsibilities: - Tutored North Korean defectors in English language proficiency.    - Assisted North Korean defectors in studying for the English section of the Korean college entrance exam.

Responsibilities & Experiences: - Taught conversational and academic English to a varied ability student population. - Applied knowledge of differentiated instruction and the use of assessment tools in order to meet the needs of all levels of student abilities. - Implemented the co-teaching model of teaching in collaboration with Korean general education teachers. - Collaborated with Korean English teachers using the professional learning communities’ model of collaboration.   - Created an “English Excellence Program” for summer and winter camps.
