Role and Responsibilities: * Evidence Collection: Collecting electronic evidence from various sources, including computers, mobile devices, servers, and digital storage media while ensuring that evidence is obtained legally, maintaining the chain of custody to preserve its integrity for use in court. * Data Extraction: Use of specialized forensic tools and techniques to extract and recover digital data from devices. This includes recovering deleted files, examining internet history, and decrypting password-protected information. * Data Analysis: After data extraction, the recovered information must be analyzed to identify relevant evidence. This may involve examining documents, emails, chat logs, multimedia files, and more to establish connections or uncover criminal activities. * Evidence Preservation: Preserving the integrity of the evidence throughout the investigative process is crucial. This involves creating forensic images of storage devices to ensure that original data remains unaltered. * Expert Testimony: Provide expert testimony in court to explain findings and the significance of digital evidence. Being able to communicate technical information clearly to judges, juries, and attorneys is key. * Cybercrime Investigations: Investigating cybercrimes such as hacking, data breaches, online fraud, and cyberbullying while tracing digital footprints, identifing suspects, and gathering evidence to build cases against cybercriminals. * Collaboration: Working closely with other law enforcement agencies, forensic experts, and legal professionals is paramount as collaboration is essential to ensure the comprehensive and accurate handling of digital evidence. * Training and Development: Staying updated with the latest forensic tools and techniques is crucial. Routinely engage in continuous learning and training to keep pace with rapidly evolving technology.

During this time frame I investigated a variety of offenses ranging from vehicle burglaries to capital murders. Attention to detail and the ability to collect, process and report on evidence collected are paramount to the position. Experience testifying in both State and Federal court.

General duties of a patrol officer. During this time frame almost 8 years was as a training officer. In addition I was a certified Instructor and assisted teaching at the Academy.
