Intown Suites
Founder and President of Intown Suites, a budget extendedstay hotel company. Under the direction of Mr. Vickers Intown grew from one hotel in 1989 to 15,000 rooms in 21 states by 2004. Throughout Intown’s growth, Mr. Vickers was active in all aspects of the business as a developer, general contractor, owner and manager. Under his direction, Intown maintained occupancy in excess of 95% and a record of continuous same store EBITDA growth. He has a proven track record of recruiting, retaining and motivating professionals. It is his intense focus on cost control and standardization of operations that will allowed the Company to be the low cost provider in the industry. During 2002, Mr. Vickers led Intown’s purchase of its largest competitor, Suburban Lodge (at the time, a public company traded on the NASDAQ exchange) for $99 million. During the time Mr. Vickers controlled Intown, he closed over $1 billion in real estate related transactions with such entities as Lazard Frères, Deutsche Bank, Fleet Bank, Bank of America, Regions Bank, South Trust Bank and Bank United. Upon Mr. Vickers’ departure from the company, Intown was the largest budget extended-stay hotel chain in the United States. Subsequent to the sale of Intown, Mr. Vickers has been active in the consumer finance industry with businesses in the U.S. and United Kingdon. The U.S. operations were sold in 2012. Mr. Vickers continues to own the U.K. Operations which maintains offices in Manchester.
