About David Coleman

I am currently a senior studying Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a focus in Astronautics. I have always been interested in studying engineering but it was aircraft and spacecraft made me decide to go down the specification of Aerospace Engineering. Due to my love of rocketry I joined ERFSEDS to work on undergraduate research projects and to learn new skills. For this club I have worked on both Project Hummingbird and Project Kleos. For both projects I have been tasked with working in a team to get high powered rockets ready for launch. In Project Hummingbird I helped with the designing, building, and ground testing of the avionics bay as well as integrating it with the rocket at launch. In Project Kleos I am the airframe sub team lead where I have to manage my team to design, build, and test the airframe of the high powered rocket.

    An area manager internship at Amazon's Fulfillment center ILG1 in Newark Delaware. In this position learned how to help manage the process of pack within ILG1 along with working on a project to help improve the site. My project related to decreasing a pack metric that was over the set threshold down to acceptable levels. This project required me to deep dive amazons processes in order to diagnose where the defects were coming from, and then to come up with solutions to decrease those defects. Afterwards I had to create a narrative paper explaining my findings, solutions, recommendations, and next steps.
