I'm a data & spreadsheet geek with a background in tech, marketing & finance. My favorite hobby is creative writing and I have also dabbled in painting. Grew up in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania and moved to Raleigh, NC in 2007. I am an introvert and not a natural salesman, and I've always had a heart for helping people like myself who have great ideas but lack the tools to bring them to the marketplace. In the 17 years since my first attempt at entrepreneurship, I have come to realize how critical it is to have a clear reality picture of finances (and how many factors can muddy the picture). That's a big part of what led me to my current path.From 1997 to 2007, I worked in technology, working on machine control systems. From 2007 to 2017, I was a marketing copywriter. Toward the end of that period, I started to see an opportunity to help business owners solve the deeper issues in their business models. In 2017, I went to work as a contract bookkeeper and discovered that I really liked finance. Specifically, I noticed a common pattern: a lot of business owners didn't understand how to find useful information in their financial statements. I saw an opportunity to build more useful and intuitive ways to create business KPIs based on real-time financial data that can guide day-to-day decision making.
