In this role I served as the technical leader of CareerPlug, hiring, mentoring, and leading a team of 20 across engineering, product management, and design to deliver high quality software products during a stage of rapid, profitable growth.Highlights include:* Served as the sole technical member of the CareerPlug executive team, advising the company founder and other executives on all key technical, product, and strategy decisions during my tenure.* Recruited, hired, onboarded, and mentored engineers, product managers, and designers across all career levels, from juniors to directors.* Set and managed the budget for the product and engineering organizations, including staffing, SaaS spend, and infrastructure investments. Led contract negotiations with key vendors as needed.* Lead all key technical discussions within the company as the engineering team navigated scaling and delivery challenges.* Designed and implemented company-wide product development processes, increasing communication across teams and involving stakeholders across the company in product development and delivery.* Owned the product roadmaps for CareerPlug’s product suite* Maintained an active role in client-facing conversations, working with daily users, decision makers, and executive stakeholders across a variety of industries.* Owned key partnerships with job boards, payroll companies, and assessment providers* Maintained a hands-on connection with the product and the codebase, building new features, fixing bugs, and scoping out requirements as required to keep the team moving forward.* In addition to my leadership role on the engineering and product teams, I built several key functions of CareerPlug’s organization from scratch, including Product Design, QA, and Marketing.

I led a small team of customer success representatives during the initial launch of CareerPlug's Applicant Tracking System, supporting growth from 0 to 2000+ accounts and helping to establish the processes and standards for CareerPlug's Customer Success team.In this role I was fortunate to work directly with clients on a brand new software platform, helping troubleshoot their issues, consulting with them on their recruiting strategy, and, in many cases, introducing them to a completely new way to staff their businesses. This work gave me vital insight into what it takes to build and support B2B software, particularly in industries where subpar, outdated software is the standard. Delivering a high quality user experience and showing people how software can make their lives better and help them grow their businesses was extremely rewarding.
