This was a short term contract to assist in the durability improvement of nanofunctional superhydrophobic coating materials. The project was very successful.

This position was an opportunity to study under Dr. C. Jeffrey Brinker, who held joint positions as a UNM professor and a Fellow Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories. In addition to rigorous studies in Sol-gel chemistry, Materials Science, Nanoscience, and surface engineering, job responsibilities included supporting multiple high-level funded projects for a variety of 'clients.' The work in this blended U.S. government national lab and academic environment led to both prestigious publications and significant commercializable intellectual property.
