Research assistant with projects including 1) Development and Refinement of Enhanced Condition Indicators for Aviation Safety as well as 2) Cable Diagnostics and Prognostics through use of Joint Time-Frequency Domain Reflectometry (JTFDR). Future projects will include the Implementation of CBM in Wind Turbine Generators as well as application of Cable Diagnostics and Prognostics to super conducting cable.

This teaching assistant position is for a senior level design course. Students design and implement an engineering project with projects in a broad range of Electrical Engineering and related topics from communications and audio engineering to control and robotics. This position included both one-on-one training with individual students in the laboratory and instruction of class lectures on general principles of research and product development, project management, power electronics concepts, and control systems.

Working as an undergraduate research assistant, I developed a Condition-Based Maintenance algorithm that analyzed vibration signatures in hanger bearings of AH-64 platform helicopters and summarized transient variations in frequency due to shifts in drivetrain rotational and gearbox mesh frequencies. This metric helped categorized failures in terms of unbalance and misalignment. I also helped design a control system, using LabVIEW, for the hydraulic platform of a rotating tail rotor swashplate test stand used to simulate cyclic loading in the AH-64 rotor. I had experience publishing papers and attending technical conferences, culminating applying for and receiving the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship.

As visiting scholar, my primary responsibilities were setting up a test facility for cable diagnostics and prognostics and training of new student researchers at Yonsei University in principles of reflectometry cable health assessment, time-frequency analysis, and MATLAB testbed environments. I gave invited presentations for the university and continued work on my PhD dissertation on comprehensive joint time-frequency analysis toward condition based maintenance (CBM) regimes for electrical and mechanical components.

I read confidential medical files and redacted out sensitive information leading to the identification of patients of the state of South Carolina. These files were then copied and sent to law firms, institutions, or private citizens filing a Freedom of Information request.

Mastered the Romanian language to assist in English instruction, disaster relief, youth outreach, and religious service. Developed excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication, and leadership skills.
