TeraView is a company exploiting the unique properties of Terahertz radiation providing imaging and spectroscopy solutions across a range of industries and academia. Working with distributors, agents and direct selling to Europe and Asia, I oversaw significant increase in sales ahead of targets. I was also responsible for expanding the companies’ sales growth in the region by appointment of distributors, agents and partners. The role also incorporated marketing functions as well as business development and technical activities enhancing the companies offering. I also had a global strategic role developing the business into industrial markets. - Appointed new agencies in Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Romania, Poland). - Significant sales in new emerging markets (Romania, Russia, Poland, China, Czech, Singapore) - Developed the technology into industrial markets including solar, automotive, healthcare, and pharmaceutical. - Developed an initial market for Terahertz in the automotive paint sector and helped secure a UK Gvmt Technology Strategy Board (TSB) funding to develop a prototype.

Mesophotonics Ltd - Southampton UKMesophotonics was a small hi-technology venture funded start-up company working in the area of enhanced Raman spectroscopy for trace measurement. The companies unique Surface Enhanced Raman (SERS) consumable substrates had been developed as an offshoot of Southampton University. I developed a team to shift the emphasis from internal R&D to a more customer facing organisation. Managing a team of application and sales staff the company saw major market traction in key areas of homeland security, medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical and general analytical chemistry. As part of the management team I had experience reporting to board and investor level. In 2007 I was a key part of the team that established a successful sale of the business to Renishaw group.

I was responsible for sales of ABB Bomem FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) spectrometers to European countries in the refining, chemical, semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. The role involved working with approximately 20 area sales engineers located in distributors across the Europe. I set commercial targets, motivated and drove the sales force in developing and securing new business. I was involved in all stages of the sales process, from pre-sales promotion to final contract negotiations.
