The Avon 3-day is a 60 mile walk over a 3 day period. Thousands of women (and men) walk 20 miles a day, set up a two person tent usually (in a park or school) and stay over until the next day. Each walker must raise $1200 to walk, if you do not, they will literally debit your credit card. We are fed well and huge semi's with portable showers are brought in for us. It is a very well organized event. My goal was to walk all of them but I only was able to do Santa Barbara, Seattle and San Diego.
