Currently, I am the IT Manager and Information System Security Official for the Structural Engineering Division (ES) in the Engineering Directorate. I am responsible for managing the contractor budget, and the IT budget. I approve all IT purchases, and ensure all software licenses are up to date. I provide status to management through meetings and presentations. I evaluate on-going work, and accept or reject work products.I provide oversight, technical guidance and policy recommendations to management. I work with managers, Information System Security Officials, and systems personnel to ensure the security management requirements in NPR 2810 are met. I oversee, and participate in the development of the Structural Engineering Divisions security plan, its assessments, resolution of findings, follow-on actions, and continuous monitoring. This includes working with the Engineering Directorate and JSC IT Security Office to ensure the Division understands priorities and required work products. I periodically report to the JSC Computer Information Security Officer on matters of IT planning and new initiatives. As the ES IT Manager, I am responsible for ensuring timely response to an endless amount of IT data calls. Many of these data calls deal with the management of EA’s IT assets, identifying current owners, locations, accessing user requirements, and excessing assets that are no longer required. I am the ES representative to IRD for all ACES initiatives. I have recommended several consolidation ideas in response to the reduced IT budget.
