Worked in Dr. Nicole Martinez’s lab on projects supported by the Consortium for Nuclear Forensics (specifically, Thrust 3: Ultrasensitive Measurements). Team member for the Nuclear Waste Dialogue (NuWaDi) Consortium, which was designed to facilitate conversations about nuclear waste and culture.

Continued my work in the Center for STEM Education by coding for different instances of engineering in interviews regarding views on engineering within the family. Focused on how engineering perceptions, confidence levels, and notions regarding who does engineering and where is it done changed in children, families, and educators over a four year period based on data collected from the Ready Set Go (RSG) Team. Developed a coding scheme with my teammates, transcribed interviews, and coded the transcripts using Dedoose software. Presented our findings via poster with my labmate at the 2024 College of Science Joint Annual Meeting (COS-JAM) in the Jordan Hall Galleria in May. Received 1 credit hour for my contributions to the lab.

Worked with two other co-commissioners to plan Howard Hall’s 2024 Walk For More Tomorrows. Coordinated a week of activities including a campus wide walk, gifts for the residents of Howard Hall, and a panel featuring members from Residence Life, Campus Ministry, and the University Counseling Center to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention on campus.

Worked with Dr. Aliaksandra Lisouskaya and her postdoc, Dr. Ilya Sosulin, in the Lisouskaya Lab on their research in radiation chemistry for academic credit. Assisted on projects involving EPR spectroscopy, linear accelerator (LINAC) irradiation, and liquid nitrogen to examine organic radicals formed from ligands (like DPO, CMPO, TBP, and DEHBA) used in the extraction of actinide isotopes. Received 1 credit for my work in the spring semester and 3 credits via the Advanced Undergraduate Research class in the fall.

Assisted in planning and serving the Ryan Hall Thanksgiving dinner for about 245 residents. In 2022, I served on the Accessibility Subcommittee, where I worked with other residents to ensure accessibility needs were met in the organization of tables and buffet setup.

Worked with an Assistant Rector and fellow co-commissioner to coordinate a fall semester panel on how religion plays a role in one’s life during and after college with several faculty and staff members of Notre Dame, organized readers, sacristans, and extraordinary ministers for weekly masses in Ryan Hall, attended Student Council meetings with other commissioners to promote the Hallow App and faith connection within the residence halls, and planned the Ryan Hall Retreat with the Ryan Hall Retreat Committee.

Collaborated with the Spiritual Life Commissioners, other Ryan Hall Retreat Committee members, and an Assistant Rector to plan, advertise, and run the Ryan Hall Retreat.

One of thirteen undergraduates selected to pursue on-campus research focused on sustainable energy over the course of ten weeks in the summer. Continued my work in the Lisouskaya Lab examining different organic radicals formed tributyl phosphate (TBP) solutions, including PBN in TBP, TBP in n-dodecane, and irradiated TBP, for use in the extraction of actinide isotopes. Performed the Freeze-Pump-Thaw method on Schlenk lines and operated EPR and LINAC devices. Presented findings at the 2023 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium in the Jordan Hall of Science Atrium.

Gathered data and coded for the Svarovsky Lab in the Notre Dame Center for STEM Education for academic credit. Focused on engineering practices present in young children and how these practices can be encouraged by their families to promote STEM related education in the future based on data compiled by the Ready Set Go (RSG) Team in Portland, Oregon. Co-authored a paper titled “Exploring the nature of engineering during home-based engineering activities designed for Spanish- and English-speaking families with young children,” which was presented at the American Society for Engineering Education Conference 2023 in Baltimore, Maryland. Received 1 credit hour per semester (for 2 credits total) for my contributions to the lab.

After serving as a board member from December 2021-April 2022, I was elected Vice President of FlipSide, a club that was developed to offer non-alcoholic events and activities on Friday nights for students who do not want to partake in drinking culture on campus. As Vice President, I helped plan and set up events, made sure everyone was having fun, and attended bi-weekly board meetings.

Worked with other committee members in Ryan Hall and across campus to create a welcoming environment for the incoming first-year class of 2026. Coordinated walkovers to events, helped loft beds and assist in move-in, gave advice, and organized a brick painting activity to promote the spirit of hall community over the course of Welcome Weekend.

Explored various databases to compile lists of primary and secondary source material for Professor Rebecca Tinio McKenna’s research on the history of the piano. Assisted with checking in attendees and providing name tags at the “Global Religion & American World-Making” conference in April 2022.

Fulfillment Expert at Target. Worked under various time constraints to fulfill online orders (including grocery items), pickups, and shipping orders. Aided customers across the store with any issues they were experiencing.

Helped update constituent data for the Diocese of Harrisburg.

Handled food and cash transactions during the summer season.
