Elected Fellow of the Society in 2002. I have served as President of two chapters: Houston (1992-92) and San Fernando Valley (2001-2003). For the international Board of Directors, I have served as Manager of the International Technical Publications Competition, Manager of the Membership Committee, Assistant Secretary to the Board, and elected as a member of the Nominating Committee (2000 to 2002). I have presented at numerous professional conferences, both international and regional.Currently, I serve on the Associate Fellows Nominating Committee.

The Wisconsin Regional Planning Committee schedules, plans, recruits over 150 volunteers, and runs the FIRST Robotics Competition each year. About 60 FRC teams compete with winners moving on to the Championships in St. Louis.

Researched current software solutions, interviewed client representatives, analyzed accumulated data, and made a written recommendation for the purchase and implementation of software to manage maintenance of their assets.

Assisted in interviewing and defining customer documentation and training needs. Developed business need proposals and estimates. Developed Adobe FrameMaker templates for operator and maintenance guides. Edited and rewrote an operator guide for a yard locomotive.

Researching and developing content for a data warehouse to support multiple finnacial systems.

Sub-contracted to Metavante, Inc. Wrote Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) service contracts for an integrated customer tracking system using XMetal and DITA. Wrote online help for a automated workflow builder using RoboHelp.

• Responsible for the development and production of technical documentation (operator guides, owner manuals, service manuals, and training materials) for a wide range of customers, such as Bobcat, John Deere, Volvo, Yamaha, Yanmar, and Yaskawa.• Established process to create accurate, consistent estimates, resulting in better cost tracking, resource planning, and sales projections.• Updated process documentation for writing, desktop publishing, and illustration for ISO 9001.• Direct staff of 1 assistant manager, 10 technical writers, 1 content management administrator, 7 desktop publishing specialists, and 3 artists, supplemented with up to 5 contractors.

* Manage development and publication of repair and maintenance manuals for rides and attractions in 11 Disney parks.* Develop schedules and budgets to support all projects.* Develop tools to assist the writers and production staff, such as a style guide to maintain consistent content and format and a process guide to establish consistent tasks and work flows.* Direct staff of 8 writers, 2 production specialists, and 1 administrative assistant, supplemented with up to 15 contractors.

Managed two different groups. Started in the Houston office, managing the documentation development for 6 products in the DB/Tools product line. Promoted to Agoura Hills (California) office to manage documentation development for 31 distributed system products.

Wrote user and reference manuals for tools supporting IBM CICS, VTAM, and DB/2.
