About Dennis Hernandez
Hi! I am passionate about Law and Higher Education. I aspire to attend Law School to eventually teach Law. I am currently a Graduate Fellow through Justice Corps where I have the pleasure of serving my community’s self-represented litigants with their Family law cases, including Divorce, Parentage, Custody & Visitation, Restraining Order and Unlawful Detainer. I received my M.A. in Humanities from California State University, Northridge, where I previously earned my B.A. in History & Philosophy. Throughout my education, I engaged with a diverse student population in a number of roles to support their success. One of these was instructing semester long courses for students in English courses that have traditionally low pass rates while also consulting student writers and offering tutoring services. Additionally, I engaged students and peers by building meaningful interactions to support their journey from academia to career through career guidance, including major exploration as well as job search and preparation. I became passionate about investing in the development of others through roles as a Supplemental Instructor, Writing Consultant, and Career Peer Educator.I am a resourceful and self-directed critical thinker with the ability to lead a team and work independently, as demonstrated from my experience as a Co-Chair of a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Hermanos Unidos. I am particularly dedicated to the advancement of Latino males into academic scholars, community leaders, and young professionals but seek to expand my support to all.Intellection | Input | Learner | Connectedness | IndividualizationINTJ
