In my role as Chief Operating Officer, I managed the team responsible for supply-chain management, product distribution, warehouse operations, equipment repairs, social media, and hiring at corporate-owned cafes. In addition, I oversaw Compass Coffee's wholesale program for regional customers including premier DC restaurants, office buildings, cafes, and hotels. My role focused on day-to-day execution of business-critical tasks as well as long-term growth strategies for system innovation, internal process improvements, and training development.

I Co-Founded and served as Chief Development Officer for Local Roots, a cutting-edge vertical farming company dedicated to improving global health by building a better supply chain. In my role I developed a technical sales process from the ground up, performed market research to segment our customers, built our CRM database and sales pipeline, managed our internal sales team, and negotiated contracts through execution with national food-service executives. I also supported fundraising efforts with high net-worth investors by creating due diligence documents and building relationships with early-stage investors.In 2014, I conducted extensive data gathering and employed data visualization techniques to co-author the white paper “Indoor Crop Production: Feeding the Future” - a market analysis that is still cited by industry professionals today.

As Director of Operations at the venture group Maverick Angels, I was responsible for daily operations of our angel investment network. My primary responsibilities included qualifying investment candidates, coordinating financial transactions on behalf of our investors, analyzing company financial statements, and performing in-depth research on market dynamics to provide investors with information required for investment decisions. In addition, I routinely taught classes on early stage fundraising. Over three years, I mentored 125+ startup founders on investor pitches and due diligence creation, resulting in over $17 million in strategic investments from angel investors and venture capital firms.In 2014, I planned the 1st Annual University Venturing and Angel Summit, a funding conference for nine Southern California angel investment firms, 20 entrepreneurs and 180+ guests. In attendance were student entrepreneurs from eight Southern California Universities. As a direct result of the conference, student teams received $1.5M+ in angel funding and the Summit continues to be held annually.

Through cold outreach to C-level executives, I on-boarded 11 new commercial real estate clients in first 10 months, representing over $3.3 million in lease transactions. In addition, I facilitated leasing transactions for a retail chain with over 300 locations nationwide and renegotiated over-market leases to save the business $400,000 in expenses annually.

As a Research Associate, I designed and implemented multi-million dollar international marketing research studies for Fortune 500 Clients including Nike Inc., The Walt Disney Company, and Kellogg Company. My largest success was building, testing, and rolling out a Microsoft Excel data-mining dashboard to automate market reporting and PowerPoint preparation for a multi-million dollar brand effectiveness study that spanned 9 countries and 15 sports. This VBA-enabled tool saved our research department 300+ hours of labor in its first six months of use.
