How did a fiction-loving film buff end up in the world of digital marketing? With a tiny dose of luck, the wisdom of stellar mentors along the way, and a growth mindset shaped by my two worlds of Singapore and New Zealand. I'm currently the Chief Marketing Officer at PocketSmith, a Kiwi fintech company that develops personal finance software that lets you see your financial past, present and future. We're a B2C SaaS product, which means - obnoxious jargon aside - that we sell a subscription-based service direct to our customers, much like Netflix and Canva. If I could boil down what I do all day to one word, it would be this: storytelling. At its core, digital marketing is about telling the right stories to the right people, at the right time. I love frugal innovation, and experiment and iterate ways to reach people better. Whether you call it data-driven marketing, or a healthy obsession with performance marketing and optimisation, I get a thrill from creating something awesome out of not very much.My 15-year marketing and communications journey spans a wide range of industries, including biotechnology, healthcare, education, FMCG, construction, automotive, sports, NGO and government sectors.
Listed skills include Management, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Strategic Communications, and 22 others.
