Additionally I was able to provide a suggested priority of which parts of the organisation should migrate when based upon their business calendars and business application readiness.

Bombardier Transport is synonymous with the bespoke manufacture of trains for clients worldwide and have the challenge of migrating 30,000 of its employees worldwide to a new desktop environment.Their approach has been a mix traditional on site deployments using trained engineers and providing tools for some users to “self-migrate” where appropriate. Working between London and Berlin, I have been involved in almost all aspects of the project since its inception and am currently heading up the global planning of the upcoming migration sites ensuring a fast and efficient migration with a minimum impact to the business.

The project sees the refresh of user environments from Windows XP to Windows 7, Office 2003/2007 to Office 2010 and Internet Explorer 6 to Internet Explorer 9 as well as the introduction of new encryption security measures.
