At Bench, I was responsible for designing and building Event-Driven microservices from legacy technologies to ensure scalability.I lead architecture design meetings aiming at breaking a Scala monolith apart into severalservice-based units built in AWS. Specifically, I was focused on integrating an Optical Character Recognition AI model into the application’s document upload service that would enable clients to automatically reconcile their financial records instead of requiring human intervention.

LifeBooster aims to help minimize injury in the workplace using wearable technology in order to perform ergonomic assessments. I was a part of the backend data team responsible for storing the data to foreground assessment analytics. Using an event-driven (CQRS) architecture, we were able to generate charts and risk alerts in various levels of complexity while maintaining simplistic and scalable storage solutions using Microsoft Azure.

The James Hogg Research Centre is supported collaboratively by the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine and Providence Health Care and is an affiliated Centre in the Institute for Heart + Lung Health (IHLH). Their focus is aimed at determining the leading environmental and genetic factors in heart, lung, and blood vessel disease.I worked with a senior software developer and a statistical analyst in the development of a genetic analysis software package comprised of several pathway-based algorithms called Path2. The current methods implemented in Path2 are adept at detecting the overrepresentation of biological pathways using a variety of algorithms, as well as correcting for multiple testing.
