I am a big 4 qualified Chartered Accountant with experience across a number of sectors and having worked in various different business environments. I consider myself to be commercially focussed, highly analytical, and able to present complex information in a way that is understood and valued by audiences with differing backgrounds.My key previous roles include:- Approximately 15 years experience working in professional practice; advising SMEs in relation to their financial performance and supporting them through transactions and challenging situations. This work included sales/disposals, due diligence, stakeholder management and debt advisory.- Experience in operational and financial management within an AIM listed financial services business, at a time when it was experiencing significant challenges to its business model. Here, as part of the senior executive team, I focussed on business improvement, financial reporting, IT systems implementation and strategy development.- The formation (including dealing with FCA related matters) of a small investment fund where I was responsible for sourcing and evaluating opportunities as well as managing the investment post deal. Within this role I gained hands on experience working within the investments priming them for subsequent disposal.- Performing a Group FD role within a strong and profitable business. During this time I managed the sale of the group to a private equity investor, a role that included the negotiations, due diligence, sale practicalities (legal, tax etc.) and dealing with its FCA regulation. In this role I have also played a critical role in the implementation of a new ERP system and set up robust and rapid financial reporting as required by the group's new private equity investor. In addition this role has included aspects of HR, FCA regulation data protection, training, contract drafting, etc. as well as work areas typical of such a role such as providing insight into business performance, commercial support, audit, etc.Over the years I have experienced a wide range of sectors with particular emphasis on technology, distribution, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, social sector, food, education, retail, engineering, financial services and general manufacturing.
