David Thatcher is a Senior Security Advisor, leader, and hands-on executive with over 20 years of IT experience guiding organizations through change and innovation. Mr. Thatcher began his information technology career developing and implementing custom solutions in the insurance, banking, credit union, healthcare, governmental, legal, retail, and manufacturing industries. He has prepared and presented a wide variety of communications to executives, boards, technical teams, and peers. During his tenure with Lockheed FCU, Mr. Thatcher created new departments including E-Commerce/Digital Banking, Telecom, Network Operations, and Information Security to support the organization’s industry leading growth. He drove numerous transformational projects to further business, technical, and information security goals. Mr. Thatcher freely shares his knowledge and works alongside his teams to rapidly raise their skillsets. As Vice President of Information Security and CISO, Mr. Thatcher established regulatory compliance and risk management programs and worked across the organization to implement necessary controls; while also conducting forensic investigations, remediation, and system implementations. Mr. Thatcher designed a cyber defense program for Lockheed FCU based on the Lockheed Cyber Kill Chain, implementing tools and processes to identify and disrupt attacks at all levels.More recently, Mr. Thatcher uses his expertise to spearhead regulatory compliance projects related to Cloud Computing, PKI, HSM implementation and encryption key management in the financial services and payments industry.Mr. Thatcher’s aptitude for cyber security, business and technology fuels his passion for creating and implementing solutions. Creativity and practicality are his core drivers to effectively solve urgent technological challenges.
