I started as a warehouse supervisor level 1 at the Dollar General South Eastern Distribution Center. In this role I lead the repack, non-conveyable and shipping teams. I supervised up to 70 employees at 1 time moving over 500,000 cases per week or about 26 million cases per year. In the repack and non-conveyable departments my team was responsible for order filling cases to load onto the trucks. As the shipping supervisor (where I spent the majority of my time) I was responsible for the loading and securing of all cases for the warehouse during my shift, as well as ensuring all the proper paperwork, trailer weight and seals were in place before each load moved off of the yard. I also oversaw the yard jockey team (team that moved the trailers around the yard utilizing both over the road and yard only trucks. Merge (team making the conveyor system run), Sanitation Team, and Recycle Team. The recycle team was responsible for recycling all of the cardboard brought back from the stores and setting up the roll containers to be reused to load new freight onto the trucks. During my time at Dollar General I was promoted to Supervisor Level 2.

When I started at the Walmart Alachua Distribution center I was a receiving department unloader. I was certified to use multiple pieces of crowne power equipment to unload and move freight. I was quickly promoted to Area Manager over the receiving department and moved on to manage the case pack order filling department. In receiving I oversaw the accountability of inbound loads and the unloading of freight to go both into the warehouse inventory and directly to the stores. In order filling I oversaw the picking of over 50,000 cases a day as well as a team of 20 pickers and 15 replenishment lift drivers. I was also chosen to be the DC champion to implement a new order filling process to increase the case per man hour and overall team productivity.

Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Area

I served over 5 years in the Florida Army National Guard. I first enlisted in 2008 as a Combat Engineer (12B) and worked up to PFC E-3 before joining the ROTC program at the University of Florida. After Completing ROTC and graduating I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and branched ordinance. I was put in position as a Platoon Leader in B Company in the 53rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Support Battalion. From there I promoted to 1st lieutenant and moved up to the position of company Executive Officer before resigning my commission in 2013.
