CurrentI have gone out and assisted with installing several residential solar arrays with Grid Alternatives. They are a nonprofit that installs free solar on low income residential buildings. They have a pretty standard procedure that they follow. A typical build lasts two days and consists of the following:Setting up a safe & efficient workspace.Laying down an outline for the array.Locating and drilling rafters.Placing the mounts, assembling & installing racking & solar modules.Installing junction box and integrating electrical system with existing breaker system.Checking the system to make sure it works.Obviously there's a bit more to it than that, but those are the bullet points.
