About Dylan Hebert

Howdy! My name is Dylan Hebert and I am a junior chemical engineering student here at Texas A&M University. Currently, I'm on track to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in May of 2026. I am deeply passionate about the petrochemical and petroleum industry, with a specific focus on advancements in various fuels. My goals are to contribute to the optimization of current, conventional fueling as well as pioneering new, cleaner alternative fuels. In pursuit of these goals, I have an unwavering commitment to advancing the frontiers of chemical processes while aiming my goals to leave a more sustainable earth than I was born into. With a strong academic foundation at TAMU, I am currently immersing myself into rigorous chemical engineering environments, most notably as an undergraduate researcher at Texas A&M's Department of Engineering as a member of the AggiE Challenge where I plan to contribute towards the commercialization of advanced vapor-compression desalination technologies. I look forward to learning project management and leadership skills while learning more about vapor-compression desalination techniques. Additionally, I plan to play a key role in other experience-oriented organizations such as Engineers without Borders where I will continue to grow my knowledge and expertise in the real world.Beyond my academic endeavors, I am an actively involved member and leader in several on-campus organizations. After actively participating in Freshman Reaching Excellence in Engineering (FREE), a freshman leadership organization, I have now transitioned into the role of a "Big" mentor. In this capacity, I offer my guidance and mentorship to new generations of FREE, helping shape the next generation of engineering leaders. I am also eager to get more involved within the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Here, I am eager to continue my journey of character development alongside my peers, cultivate leadership skills, and foster meaningful professional connections, contributing to both my personal growth and the broader engineering community at Texas A&M University.

  • Kiewit
Instrumentation And Controls Engineering Intern (Ogc Division)
    Kiewit Jun 2024 - Aug 2024
    Katy, Texas, United States
    ▪ Kiewit Corporation is one of North America's largest and most respected EPC contractors, ranking 2nd in ENR's Top 400 Contractors and allocating upwards of 17 billion in revenue annually.▪ Worked within the Oil, Gas, Chemical Division of Kiewit with a team of Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Civil, Structural, and I&C Engineering interns and their peers to complete deliverables directly taken from the Williams 620 Compressor Station LNG project in PA.▪ Analyzed 28 pages of P&IDs in order to create an Instrument Index of 600+ physical instruments including indicators, transmitters, control valves, safety valves, orifices, and many more along with their respective soft tags, (alarms), throughout the compressor station. Under each instrument would describe what and where it is, what it's connected to, what I/O type it is, what it's controlled by, and if the vendor handles the purchase or not. ▪ Created an Instrument Count and sent both documents (Index and Count) to Estimating. I received the data necessary to then complete a Material Take Off (MTO) and Cost Breakdown of my part of the project.▪ Compiled all control valves to complete a Control Valves Summary with data taken from Process, (Inlet Line Size, Seat Leakage Class, Design Temperatures, etc.), to give both General and Valve Specifications on each CV in the entire compressor station.▪ Visited multiple vendor visits for us to understand what goes on behind the screen when designing our projects. The vendors visited included Piping Technology, Locke Solutions, Alfa Laval, Ladish Valves, Puffer-Sweiven, and Relevant Power Solutions. This led me to further network with companies that go hand and hand with EPC contracting while also learning more about each of their respective products.▪ Presented on multiple, separate occasions to my Peer Mentor, Senior Mentor, Manager, and the Executives and Directors of the Oil, Gas, and Chemical Division of Kiewit.--
  • Kiewit
    Process Engineering Trainee (Ogc Division)
    Kiewit Jun 2024 - Jul 2024
    Katy, Texas, United States
    ▪ Asked to be trained as a Process Engineering Intern along with my Instrumentation and Controls training to gain as much knowledge in my internship as possible.▪ Had multiple Lead Process Engineers and Project Managers within the company present their experienced insight on important aspects of Process Engineering including the flow from BFD to PFD to P&ID, Hydraulics, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Pumps, Compressors, and Aspen Simulation.▪ Took detailed notes on these presentations, along with my I&C knowledge, to later use in my internship to help the Process Engineering Interns create P&ID's for the Williams 620 Compressor Project.--
  • Artie Mcferrin Department Of Chemical Engineering At Texas A&M University
    Undergraduate Research Assistant
Artie Mcferrin Department Of Chemical Engineering At Texas A&M University Jan 2024 - May 2024
    College Station, Texas, United States
    ▪ I am currently involved in Undergraduate Research for A&M’s Department of Engineering where I plan to contribute to the commercialization of advanced vapor-compression desalination technologies. This research is fully student-led and we are essentially a part of the R&D Department for Star Rotor.▪ As a member of the Minerals Team, I meet together with an amazing 12-person chemical engineer team teaching me new knowledge and expertise each meeting as most are seniors here at A&M Chemical Engineering. ▪ Our goal for the semester is to create a working elutriation column from scratch as a proof of concept this technology can be implemented in industry. ▪ I have and will be working on the continuous design of this elutriation column, learning and reading P&IDs along the way. Also, being able to understand how my peers lead and coordinate in a group setting has led me to shape the way I would lead and organize my team someday.--
  • Engineers Without Borders Usa
    Dominican Republic Team Member
Engineers Without Borders Usa Jan 2024 - May 2024
    College Station, Texas, United States
    ▪ Brainstormed and drafted possible solutions to problems highlighted by the Dominican Republic for EWB to look into. -- So far, the teams I have been involved with have revolved around creating culverts and bridges for the citizens of the Dominican Republic after the original project where EWB dug trenches for those in frequently flooding areas. ▪ Collaborated with a "Bridges" sub-team of 8 engineers within multiple disciplines on a weekly basis.▪ Presented ideas in front of graduate students, industry professionals, and team leads.▪ Continuously kept up-to-date with all projects of the EWB-TAMU branch during All-Member Meetings.▪ I hope to later be a part of the international team to help implement the next steps EWB has for the Dominican Republic.--
  • Nailor Industries, Inc.
    Application Engineering Intern
Nailor Industries, Inc. Jul 2023 - Aug 2023
    Houston, Texas, United States
    ▪ Nailor Industries of Texas, Inc. is part of an international corporation dedicated to innovating specialized HVAC solutions to several Fortune 500 companies.▪ I completed a line project on my own where I was tasked to implement wireless motor programming into the production lines of the company. This helped me understand first-hand the correct methodology behind large-scale projects whilst teaching me ways to improve production line efficiency. During the project, I conducted meetings with multiple companies and worked with representatives to solve problems on our end while learning how to conduct and lead multi-company meetings. Additionally, I found multiple critical problems in the third-party software which, in turn, forced multiple software updates on their end.▪ I was a part of the Automation team as the company was transitioning from manual to automated AutoCAD Drawings and Parts Lists. This was a difficult task due to the number of custom HVAC orders Nailor receives. At first, I shadowed the team learning core values of team collaboration in the workplace, then, I began work on the troubleshooting, coding, and design of the overall automated system to ensure its successful implementation for customer use. The new consumer website is now up and running with fully autonomous CAD drawings and parts lists.--
