Responsible for oversight and direction of the ECI's consulting services business unit including distribution line clearance studies, wood pole and joint facilities management plans, transmission ROW studies, training services, practical research projects, litigation support and special studies and vegetation management and planning on gas and oil pipelines.Manage all research and consulting projects related to utility vegetation in the U. S., Canada and the UK.

Responsible for vegetation management on the ComEd transmission system

. Cunningham has 31 years of vegetation management experience, beginning as an AreaUtility Arborist. Mr. Cunningham recently retired as Transmission Project Lead for ComEd, AnExelon Company, a large mid-west investor owned utility. As Project Lead, his jobresponsibilities included management of all transmission vegetation management programs,establishing short and long term goals, budget management, oversight of all contract lineclearance crews on the transmission system, and maintaining monthly performance indicators ofwork completed against budget and performance goals. Mr. Cunningham was also responsiblefor the system wide substation weed control program. Prior to assuming the responsibility fortransmission vegetation management, Mr. Cunningham was the Manager of ComEd DistributionMaintenance. This included the budgeting, scheduling and preparation of monthly performanceindicators associated with the management of all cyclic distribution line clearance activities forapproximately 900 line clearance tree contractors' employees. Mr. Cunningham has a wide depthof experience related to contracting methods and contracting issues, as well as extensiveexperience with the labor and safety issues associated with line clearance tree trimming.Under his leadership, ComEd was the recipient of the Project Habitat award for "Best Right-of-way Management Practices" for an investor owned utility in 2007 and the National Arbor Day"Tree Line USA Utility" Award each year during his tenure at ComEd. Mr. Cunningham hasbeen active in urban, community, and utility forestry issues serving on the Utility ArboristAssociation (UAA) Education / Training Committee and was previously the UAA regionalrepresentative. Mr. Cunningham is currently on the steering committee for the 8th InternationalRight-of-way Vegetation Management Symposium.
