For commercial surety clients, especially construction firms, we help develop and maintain positive relationships with surety underwriters, provide contract review and analysis from the viewpoint of insurance and risk transfer language, and help them maintain effective systems for financial and project management reporting. In this role I served the commercial insurance, surety, and risk management needs for a broad range of commercial insurance clients, including construction firms, healthcare organizations, property owners, labor unions, and nonprofit organizations.

As Managing Director for Oregon, I was responsible for offices in Salem, Portland, and Newport, with 75-80 employees, and providing commercial and personal insurance & risk management services to clients with local, multi-state, and international operations.

After joining Acordia in 1996, we continued to provide insurance, surety, and risk management services to commercial & personal clients, but with greater insurance market access and broader geographic focus.

Before joining Acordia in 1996, Potts, Davis & Co. was a locally-owned Independent Insurance Agency with roots dating back to the 1930's. We employed up to 25 people who provided service for commercial and personal clients of all sizes, covering their business & family needs, & including life, disability, and employee benefit programs.

At Standard Insurance, I managed the Group Pension Division, and was responsible for product development & administration. In addition we supported our sales force with retirement plan design & administration, employee communication, reporting, & other related plan services.
