Currently a Manager with the Cybersecurity and Resilience Governance team in IMDA, where I am involved in the review and development of policies, governance frameworks and initiatives to enhance the resilience of telecommunications and broadcast networks and services in Singapore.Prior to this, I was an investigation officer with Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau for about 4 years. As an IO, I was responsible for investigating infringements under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and all other possible criminal offences disclosed in the course of my investigations. After leaving audit firm EY, I joined PSA Corporation Limited as a management accountant. My responsibilities included preparing management reports to highlight variances against prior periods and budget, involving in forecasting and budgeting and performing cost-benefit analysis and value-investment-ratio analysis for user departments. EY was my first full-time job after graduating from NTU. At EY, I worked on various audit engagements for different industries, and led different audit team sizes on the engagements. As an audit senior, I was involved in the planning of audit strategies that were to be executed throughout the audit process and liaised with overseas EY offices for interoffice reporting instructions. Fieldwork–wise, I evaluated the adequacy and effectiveness of the companies’ internal controls, and performed detailed analysis and interpretation of significant fluctuations for balance sheet and P&L accounts. At each conclusion stage, I identified significant accounting and auditing issues and management letter points and presented them to the Audit Committee. Reviewing companies’ financial statements to ensure that they comply with various accounting standards was also part of my job scope.
