I planned and executed 30+ science outreach events with various Bay Area partners. I headed our return to in-person events, including planning, marketing, and supervising a large-scale free STEM event that attracted 1,000 attendees. Incline Village

I served as a member of the Sierra Nevada Americorps Partnership (SNAP) at the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC). I led over 2,000 students in STEM field trips and developed two new virtual field trips. I designed, built, installed, and presented the first microplastics exhibit in the Tahoe Basin. I planned and hosted outreach events online and in-person, and coordinated over 260 volunteers for events. I also wrote, edited, and published four biannual newsletters and several news articles

I educated the public about zero waste at over 50 local events in the Vail Valley, diverted over 45,000 pounds of waste from the landfill through compost and recycling, and collaborated with leaders of the Eagle County Climate Action Plan to reduce carbon emissions.

I developed a Phenomena-based NGSS-paired webpage for Science on a Sphere (SOS), an educational tool developed by NOAA, that incorporates SOS datasets and other useful educational materials into bite-sized pieces for educators, students, and the public.

Zanzibar, Tanzania

I spent a semester studying abroad focusing on marine ecology and social and environmental issues. I learned proficient Swahili, lived in a homestay, and completed a month-long independent research project on the human impacts on mangrove forests in Pujini, Pemba.

I assisted students in the Ecology course in the lab and field with data collection and analysis, and outside of class by editing work and holding office hours.
