Teaching Assistant for Intro to Bioinformatics (BSC4434C)

Accepted walk-in research advising appointments for undergraduate students 2 hours per week. Counseled students on identifying a research mentor, email and interview prep, and scholarship applications. Engaged in follow-up advising with students to promote continuous research involvement.

Giusti Rodriguez Lab:Designed Hi-C RNA-seq volcano plots for grant and potential paper figures. Presented bioinformatics education sessions to lab team.Padilla Coreano Lab:Trained and administered 24 C57 and CD1 mice in various behavioral paradigms. Coded behavioral network plots, dominance rank ELO score regression analysis, and rank fluctuation graphsusing behavioral data in Python Pandas, MatPlot, and scikit-learn libraries. Collected socially-relevant brain regions by slicing 12 mouse brains and analyzed samples using c-Fosstaining and Keyence imaging techniques. Spike sorted electrophysiology recordings from mice. Presented work and results within lab meetings and at conferences including North Central Florida Society for Neuroscience and University of Florida Undergraduate Research Symposium.Saxena Lab:Performed social behavior coding of mouse videos for the purpose of training a model to automate behavior labeling. Model's success and results were presented at poster workshop at Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition in 2023.

REU Student in Dr. Noah Snyder-Mackler's lab for genomics and behavior. Studied age-associated transcriptomic changes in microglia using datasets from the Caribbean Primate Research Center. Bioinformatics tools in R were used to analyze and plot SNPs associated with age-related changes in Rhesus Macaque microglia.

Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Lab Methods in Psychology (PSY3213L). Graded discussion posts and peer reviews for over 300 undergraduate psychology students.
