Lead the Portland-based Innovation Apparel design team in the creation of advanced brand apparel concepts. Responsible for team development, steering creative and conceptual processes, and creating a clear runway for team members to succeed. Manage cross-functional relationships across the Innovation team and the brand, and implement direction from senior leadership toward the creation of compelling apparel concepts rooted in inclusivity, credibility and sustainability. Initiate partnerships with innovators outside the brand, and work to keep the team inspired and motivated, highlighting and implementing new ways of working, new processes and new opportunities for game-changing apparel innovation.

Led the Women’s Training design team in creating global apparel product rooted in athlete insights, compelling and market-relevant performance innovation, and brand creative direction. Was responsible for guiding the team under the design director, building product around the female consumer journey, and pushing the boundaries of performance apparel at all price points. Worked closely with design and cross-functional partners in Germany, creating and developing collections in tandem to establish brand cohesion. Led the creation and innovation around the 2020 bra program relaunch, as well as the 2020 launch of inclusive size apparel. Was responsible for strong partnership with material development, creating innovative and market-relevant performance material palettes seasonally. Participated in frequent focus groups, immersions and experiences with consumers, athletes and influencers to gather insight and feedback on product and experience. Traveled to manufacturing partners in Asia to ensure the integrity of product designs and performance. Managed and mentored junior employees and interns.

Created men’s and women’s performance apparel with a focus on training. Worked closely with the cross-functional team and across business units to develop collections that aligned with seasonal market briefs, consumer insights and cost. Researched and implemented seasonal trends, brand innovations and performance technology into each collection. Presented to design leadership throughout the season, and implemented feedback to align with brand strategy. Created and managed updates of all Training BU tech packs, and translated seasonal brand palettes into compelling color drops. Worked closely with development on the selection, innovation and iteration of new materials, construction techniques and trims. Participated in all garment fittings, led technical product teardown sessions twice seasonally with cross-functional partners, and traveled to manufacturing partners in Asia to prototype, work on seasonal concepts and to understand advances and limitations in production.

Worked with the women’s design team to develop trend-driven seasonal concepts, as well as color, fabric and trim palettes. Translated seasonal stories into women’s designs on both inline and fast-track calendars, celebrating Guess heritage and pushing trends. Hand sketched designs in Photoshop, and translated sketches into clear tech packs for each style. Introduced and implemented the use and standardization of Adobe Illustrator software procedures for smoother production to cross-functional teams. Participated in and led fits alongside pattern maker, tech design and marketing.
