Software development manager for the Compliance & Process Assurance business sector of CDS, overseeing two development teams responsible for two of the flagship CDS products. One team is responsible for Knowledge Management System (KMS), and is Houston-based. The other team is responsible for an aerospace-based product called AQD and is based in Wellington, New Zealand.

Managed a team of six application developers responsible for critical systems within the company. The systems and technologies involved included .NET, outward and inward-facing web sites, Java, Visual Basic, ASP, BizTalk, Oracle, SQL Server, TFS, and PowerBuilder.Responsibilities:1. Managed and coordinated resource allocation for the team to ensure that projects, development tasks, and production support were completed by deadlines and within expected timeframes. This was done in conjunction with project managers and business users.2. Managed the development team for both the corporate and customer web sites, managing functional requirements and ensuring that development tasks were appropriately assigned and completed. This included working closely with business, marketing, and QC.3. Served as system owner and managed the development team for a legacy system written in PowerBuilder that served as one of the core functional systems (RADAR) within the company. Assessed scope to determine the ROI on various enhancement requests and set priority accordingly. This RADAR system is considered to be a flagship system for Litton within the loan servicing industry.4. Led project to implement Team Foundation System (TFS) for the department’s .NET development teams, which also included upgrading to Visual Studio 2010 and replacing Visual Source Safe for source code control. This project had been on hiatus for over 18 months until it was assigned to me.5. Led project to completely re-write corporate and user web site in .NET, to split it into two distinct sites, and to provide the Marketing department with a content management system to allow them to make content changes without IT involvement.6. Key contributor to OIM (Oracle Identity Management) project designed to automatically assign security profiles for internal systems based on a user’s department and job. Participated in re-design of security profile architecture.

Provided technical expertise and recommendations for projects, systems, and solutions.9. Managed an extremely important project to move a mission-critical system from the server room in Houston to a data center in Omaha, Nebraska, with the goal of moving this system from the path of hurricanes and eliminate the possibility of significant downtime.10. Developed and presented disaster recovery plans for various systems to ensure rapid failover in the event of an outage.11. Performed development activities as needed to supplement the productivity of the team.

Developed middle-tier business logic in object-oriented Perl under Linux as part of a complete redesign of the company’s web-based print job submission and fulfillment system. This system allowed users to upload digital documents in a variety of formats via a web browser, select customized printing and binding options, and specify recipients and shipping options. The system also provided print fulfillment centers/companies with a suite of tools and interfaces to fulfill and manage the print jobs.

Developed enterprise-wide, mission-critical application suite designed to conduct one-to-one targeted market research and loyalty programs at professional and collegiate sports venues. The application allowed sports fans to swipe a magnetic stripe card at every sporting event attended to accumulate points and receive individually targeted rewards, offers, and advertising at ATM-like kiosks. Targeted market research was conducted during the course of every fan session, and transmitted to a central data repository via a WAN, thus building a nationwide member database. This application suite was deployed in over 90 professional and collegiate venues nationwide, and contained a database of over 750,000 members.

Customized Interleaf document publishing and document management products to suit the specific needs of Interleaf clients. Most development was done under SunOS and Solaris, although some HP-UX and Windows development was done as well.

Designed and developed an application suite to facilitate the distribution, review and comment tracking of technical publications for the U.S. Navy's Tomahawk weapons system.
