• Assist in the completion of numerous high-profile, subcontracted jobs throughout the city of Madison; such as the State Street Project, the Capital Square, Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. revival, and the Goodman Pool.• Duties include but not limited to: work with asphalt and concrete, grade large areas to prepare for seeding or laying sod, build retaining walls either boulder or block, and use equipment such as bobcat, various power tools, and also gas powered equipment to complete some of these tasks. • Manage and delegate duties to multiple snow shovelers at the State Capital and other properties.

• Assess the severity of a juvenile’s law violation and determine if a custody status is needed whether that is in Secure Custody or in a Non-Secure placement. • Prepare a narrative using police report and other informative sources, if applicable, which is used by the court counselor at a future custody hearing before a judge who then determines if a Secure or Non-Secure custody status is appropriate. • Answer phones regarding ongoing and closed cases concerning the status of a juvenile. • Interact with staff and supervising agency workers regarding the status of the juveniles that are in custody. • Monitor security within the reception center, control outbursts from inmates, and communicate information via radio amongst detention staff.

Supervise and monitor activities of youth (ages 10-17) during their court ordered stay at the Shelter Home. Interact with other staff regarding the day-to-day progress of all individuals ordered to be in the Shelter Home. Assure safety during trips into the public and also within the building for the juveniles and staff. Maintain building security through the use of intercom access doors, closed security cameras, and building sprinkler system.
