I began my career as a dock worker and was quickly promoted for my many talents. I substituted for a fellow co-worker on vacation and took that opportunity to show management what I was made of. There were no standard operating procedures in place for the position. I fleshed out and created workflows and manuals for the Facilities Associate while completing daily tasks as directed by the late Manager of Property and Administration, Ronald Eisenberg. I was asked to continue to make improvements to the Facility Associate role of property-related purchasing which included cost saving measures. Working with Corporate Express and convincing management to the value of using recycled toner cartridges in lieu of OEM, we created a cost-savings in excess of $300,000 a year. I also purchased and stocked all office supplies for a 10-story building housing 1,000+ employees. Acting as the primary purchasing agent I also handled the administration of all other purchasers across 28 nationwide offices;adding and removing users and the assignation of cost centers.Other responsibilities included the purchasing, daily distribution and maintenance of audio-visual equipment valuing well over a $100,000.I also assisted with Fleet Administration of 100+ vehicles for all levels of management, sales and building engineers.
