As a Project Manager in the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR), I lead people and teams through strategy, planning, and evaluation efforts. In this role, I support DOCCR's strategic goals to reduce racial disparities, promote well-being and equity, and elevate community input in DOCCR's work.

The EaGLE program accelerates the careers of emerging leaders working in national security and public service. The program provides participants with intensive leadership development based on theories of innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.The Public Policy New Voices (PPNV) Fellowship Program is a collaboration among leading American public policy graduate schools, premier corporate public policy teams, and some of the most innovative global strategic advisory firms that provide a year-long Fellowship for 40 public policy graduate students from racially underrepresented communities.

Led the bishop's staff at the Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA.- Chief of staff: worked closely with the Bishop as her liaison to 17 staff, the public & the synod council; maintained and improved office operations, and promoted a culture of competence, trust, and diversity. - Led a first-of-its-kind initiative to advance racial equity in grant making, worked with a racially diverse community stakeholder group and synod governing boards.- Managed finances; ensured strong financial protocols, approved dozens of weekly invoices, and authorized programmatic spending in a 2M budget.- Oversaw human resources: organized and maintained classified HR and personnel files, coordinated annual performance review processes, managed hiring and onboarding, and resolved personnel disputes.- Supervised three staff: set performance goals, communicated project deliverables and deadlines, managed workflow, and promoted employee competence through ongoing feedback and coaching.- Directed events and programs: led the organization’s five major annual events – online and in person – by preparing agendas and scripts, managing numerous team deadlines, & overseeing budgets ($5,000-$85,000).

- Drafted a landscape analysis on support systems for BIPOC businesses; contributed to an academic publication that adds a new understanding of how organizations can support BIPOC businesses and entrepreneurs in closing the racial wealth and income gap.- Participated in MEDA-Catalyst coalition meetings, drafted qualitative and quantitative research briefings, held and organized classified information, and collaborated on a team of seven researchers.

- Effectively led market research initiatives and consulted on program development projects to strengthen Native communities in eight northwestern states including Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and 75 Native Nations. - Conceptualized and wrote creative, targeted strategies to build lasting relationships between commercial banks and Native Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs).- Provided consulting services (e.g. message research, earned media support, digital strategy, etc.) and executed statewide legislative campaigns for clean energy initiatives in rural and urban settings.- Translated complex public issues such as racial equity, economic justice, and financial empowerment, into opportunities for public activism via social media, editorials, and news stories.- Managed project deliverables and deadlines for a variety of nonprofit clients; ensured project outcomes were advanced, on time, and on budget.- Provided program development recommendations and communication services including digital strategy design, earned and paid media, progress reports, and more.- Tracked and maintained contractor and vendor relationships, including radio, design specialists, and earned media consultants.

As ISAIAH’s first communications professional, I developed communication strategies in a broad array of electronic, digital and print media, ensuring the effectiveness and consistency of all internal and external communication.- Proposed and led cooperative communication strategies with other social justice nonprofits to influence public opinion and motivate elected leaders to adopt policies for racial justice. Other organizations across the country adopted these techniques.- Led and supported grassroots legislative campaigns to raise awareness of transportation equity issues in the metro and in Greater Minnesota.- Conceived and executed the online component of ISAIAH’s 2014 voter mobilization campaign, which surpassed expectations by securing 20 percent of voter pledges.- Launched new approaches to maximize the impact of ISAIAH’s digital resources, resulting in a 10 percent increase in responses to online petitions and more than doubling Facebook likes and Twitter followers from ISAIAH's target audiences.- Assisted, coordinated, and led successful fundraising campaigns leveraging direct mail, social media, and email.

ISAIAH recruited me through Lutheran Volunteer Corps for a one year term to establish multi-racial relationships with community members and to build and expand a network of activists for social justice. • Developed teams to plan and execute a public meeting with 50 education stakeholders to address racial injustice in schools – garnering commitments from education leaders to work together for racial justice.• Led first ever initiative to expand ISAIAH’s grassroots communities using online media techniques, resulting in an interactive website and resource center that reached and engaged 600 religious leaders across Minnesota during ISAIAH’s 2012 voter engagement program.

LRCC hired me for a summer position as a Counselor. After two seasons, I was promoted to Associate Director and then Director for my final summer.• Initiated and led a marketing/PR approach and consulted on program development resulting in first ever PR plan, Beach Camp Manual and a training program adopted throughout the organization.
