After high school I quickly started a family and taking the time to learn about software development became too risky. I never gave up my interest in computers though and I finally found a great opportunity to learn how to code so I took the plunge a few years ago. Once I did, I've felt like I'm living the dream I've always wanted. Coding is hard work and it feels rewarding to achieve the goals I'm setting for myself. I will keep learning about all the various ins and outs of this profession for as long as I'm in the field. Since joining the development field I have spent several years working with React, C#, Kafka, and SQL, creating an application for a laboratory information system (LIS). Starting from conception and seeing the project to it's full completion, I was able to work in every aspect of the project. I was part of a fast paced team, constantly having to be agile in development processes in order to better handle shifting requirements. Having a few years under my belt, I know I am ready for all the new challenges that being a software developer brings and look forward to further opportunities to grow.
