About Eric Schmidt

As an MPA student at Indiana University, I am passionate about applying data analysis and management science to address public policy issues. I am currently pursuing a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree at IU's O'Neill School of Public Affairs, where I am learning how to use analytical tools and methods to solve complex problems and make effective decisions in the public sector.In addition to my academic studies, I have gained valuable experience as a Research Assistant for the Indiana Nonprofit Project, where I conduct statistical analysis and write reports on the nonprofit sector in Indiana. I also teach two courses, an undergraduate public affairs course titled Management Science, and a graduate level public affairs course titled Statistical Analysis for Effective Decision Making, where I help students develop their quantitative and critical thinking skills. I have also completed multiple certifications in confronting bias, bystander training, and student success mentorship, demonstrating my commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.My goal is to translate my education and experience into a career where I can use data analysis to inform and improve public policies and programs. I am eager to collaborate with and learn from other professionals who share my interest and vision for creating positive social impact through data.
