Ethan was selected as 1/34 total participants for the 2017 Vega Star Program out of a pool of 280+ of Lockheed Martin Aeronautic's top technical talent. The Vega program is designed to identify young high potential talent and pair them with LM Fellows/SMEs to fast track their technical development.During his time in the Vega Star program Ethan researched metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) and authored a technical white paper. The goal of this paper was to educate the greater workforce of the Aeronautics business unit of AM, identify potential AM applications for F-35 (and other weapons platforms) and lastly to explain the mechanics of qualifying Additive parts for Safety of Flight.Ethan also served as the project and test lead for an Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract to put the first metal, flight qualified Additive part on the F-35 stealth fighter. Ethan is proud to have accomplished all of this on top of his "day job" as an F-35 Development Project Engineer.

F-35 Engineering Project Office - New Business CaptureEthan was responsible for providing technical leadership in the development of engineering proposals and solutions to technical issues for F-35 Development, Customer Solutions and Advanced Development Programs (ADP) / Skunk Works. Ethan's leadership resulted in the capture of over $1B in new business for the Aeronautics business unit.His responsibilities included the following: coordinating changes to draft Request for Proposals, developing Team Statements of Work and schedules, Supplier Statements of Work and schedules, coordinating Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, pricing, and participating in negotiations with the Joint Program Office. As a Project Engineer, Ethan's overarching responsibility was ensuring that the technical plan, schedule and cost estimates were sound. Ethan coordinated and led cross-functional teams from the project planning phase through project execution.In addition to his daily tasks, Ethan led the first Lockheed Martin Aeronautics team to participate in and win multiple USSOCOM SOFWERX Hackathon competitions.
