A minor responsibility of the role was the automation,administration, maintenance, and management of Devon Canada’s spatial data using Python scripting and FME.Key Projects1. Project Technical Lead on a 4-month project with the production operations group to develop a system to display real-time trucking logistics data on a map. This project followed the waterfall development methodology and used FME Server as a real-time data processing engine. I was able to author a set of workflows that pulled data from an internal trucking database and output it to the enterprise SDE environment on a real-time basis. The data was then served out to the users through Operation Dashboard for ArcGIS which allowed the users to analyze and trend logistics data in real-time.2. GIS Specialist on a 6-month project with the geoscience group to develop a front end web portal for all corporate well data and well documents using the GeoCortex web mapping platform. This project followed the AGILE development methodology and had numerous touch and integration points with several other key systems internal to Devon. I was responsible for the GeoSpatial component of the project which involved the initial requirements gathering, architecture setup, map and GUI development, GIS workflow and tool development, and training for the initial users of the HTML 5 web mapping application.

Project Lead on a year long project working with the Pipeline Integrity Information Management Team at Enbridge Pipelines to evaluate the Completeness, Accuracy, Consistency, and Precision, of Enbridge’s Custom Data Model which is used to store all information on the physical pipe assets, Vendor In-Line Inspection Reports, and Non Destructive Examination Data provided to Enbridge. The main goal of the project was to evaluate the Data Quality (based on the parameters described above) of the data in this system. I lead a team of 4 GIS Programmers / Developers and was mainly responsible for Team and Task Organization and Management, Work Prioritization, QC of work, and Delivery of Reports.

Conversion of data between a US pipeline data model to a Canadian Pipeline data model. This data conversion required the organization, manipulation, and Integration of GIS and Archived Database data into a custom data set that was tailored specifically to the clients needs. 2. Identification and classification of man made structures along a pipeline for the purpose of risk calculations, within a GIS environment. For this project I took a project management type roll, where I was responsible for training a group of individuals in GIS and pipeline structures collection as well as providing technical support to these individuals during the projects various phases. I was also responsible for the Quality checking and fine tuning of the data before it was delivered to the client. This involved a rigorous data integrity check as well as the creation of a custom mapping set. 3. Automation and procedural development of a series of pipeline alignment sheets. This job required generation of several different complicated spatial models, FME workbenches, minor scripting and macro components, as well as a procedural document outlining step by step instructions used in the process. The end goal was to combine Field verified survey data, engineering drawings, environmental information, and land management information in various data types and formats into a single pipeline alignment sheet, tailored specifically to the client’s requirements.
