I have the privilege of managing Thomson Hayton Winkley on its journey in the South Lakes with MAPD – the Making a Positive Difference Group. I bring business acumen, fantastic organisational skills and solid legal expertise to the team. I lead with compassion, inspiration, and humour. I qualified as a solicitor in 2010 at the grand old age of 42, having converted my first degree in Developmental Psychology to a degree in Law. It was a long journey, burning the midnight-oil while bring up a family; there were ups and down along the way, but now I have a hugely rewarding career and there is never a dull moment.I am passionate about helping my clients understand the law as it relates to their situation in language which is straightforward and clear. I believe listening is more important than talking, so I empathise with and care about my clients – I will go the extra mile to do the right thing for them.My post-University career began at Andersen Consulting where I helped clients to navigate the complex changes brought about by IT transformations. I have also worked for a national retailer in training and development, and for national charities in legacy management and corporate fundraising before deciding that I would retrain to be solicitor. Not satisfied with that, I also undertook the rigours of becoming STEP qualified and came top in the country in one of the exams along the way.I love a challenge.
