NWEA provides the individualized guidance, connections to resources, and financial support low-income young people need to earn higher education degrees. Specializing in serving students facing profound barriers to higher education such as unstable housing, parenting, being an immigrant or refugees, or not having completed high school. During Fiona's tenure as Executive Director, NWEA grew from a single-staff grassroots nonprofit to an organization with a 2.5 million dollar annual budget and over 20 full-time employees.
