PRINCIPAL CURRENT FOCUS: teaching medical ethics, professionalism and communication skills to medical students, physicians and others involved in health care.I helped in developing curriculum for, and in "coaching"/mentoring medical students in interactive learning sessions in (1) Communication Skills and (2) Professionalism/Ethics/Humanism/Law - at new Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine (whose first class began in 2011.) Previously consultant for 3 years in Bioethics, 5 years in Palliative Medicine, following 25 years experience in Primary Care and Geriatric Medicine.Given my interest in multicultural/inter-religious engagement, I have conducted "field trips" to great faiths' houses of worship (Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish, Christian) both for medical resident doctors-in-training (for a course in "Religion & Medicine"), and for high school Sunday School students.
