Direct responsibility and management of the Procurement function in 6 ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines) with annual third party spend of USD250million. Being part of the Asia Pacific (APAC) Procurement Leadership Team and ASEAN Business Leadership Team this was also a key management role in setting up APAC Procurement Organization in 2015 and subsequently shaping the Procurement function for ASEAN. Achieved a significant milestone in successfully leading the post-merger Procurement integration between Linde and Praxair in 2019.- Improved Procurement productivity savings from 3.2% to 6% of cost-stack through rigorous category management and strategic sourcing approach. - Zero-based costing implementation on critical large-value purchase contracts with 18-23% annual cost savings. - Lead the implementation of Linde Control Tower (LCT) for all freight and forwarding activities resulting reduction in total logistics cost for selected trade lanes through improved spend transparency, visibility and on-line shipment tracking.- Improved Purchase Order automation rate from 30% to 67% in 3 years through SRM system and process enhancements resulting in stronger focus on value added Procurement strategies.

Category management role focusing on critical & large spend purchases of raw materials, speciality gases/chemicals, distribution asset investments covering a total spend of USD200million across 10 countries. This involved establishing a regional category strategy, streamline sourcing and consolidation efforts whilst deriving the optimum value and mitigating supply-chain risks. Notable success in switching sourcing strategy from high-cost geographies to low-cost countries.

Procurement managerial responsibilities with a team of Buyers and total spend of €60 million. In addition to driving cost improvements a significant focus was directed towards improving fundamental Procurement processes through material groupings, spend visibility enhancement and eliminating transactional centric activities.

Hands-on Procurement and Logistics role in the area of Engineering parts, consumables, services and large investment project purchases involving Air Separation Plants, Critical Equipment. Substantial efforts in executing strategic buying initiatives and consolidation of purchases.

First career transition from an Engineering role to Procurement with commercial exposure of analyzing spend data, sourcing & vendor negotiations. Direct responsibility in planning and execution of cost savings project initiatives on major operating commodities, engineering services and capital expenditure projects with annual spend of MYR22mil. Implemented on-line procurement system via Lotus Notes and Procurement Cards, resulting in efficient and transparent workflow system as well as eliminating non-value-adding activities.

Setting up of a production control system and capacity planning based on sales forecast resulting in 12% increase in production yield and 6% increase in plant productivity.

Selected as a Junior Executive to participate in a technology transfer program funded by leading industries and government of Finland. Individual work assignment was based on a project work involving the development of production planning and control system using finite scheduling software in Outokumpu Oyj. Established good networking and understanding of the Finnish industries as part of the program.
