JetStream Migrate and JetStream DR utilize IO Filters, VMware's preferred API architecture for cloud data management. In May 2019, JetStream closed a $7.7-million Series A funding round led by Cisco-affiliated private equity firm Digital Alpha Advisors.

Scalent Systems (http://www.scalent.com) is to IT infrastructure virtualization what its largest partner VMware is to server virtualization. Scalent finishes the job by virtualizing the network and storage topologies, enabling retargeting of any server in boot time. Scalent Systems was acquired by Dell Inc.

Informed Politics was a small non-profit catering to online political activists, left, right, and center. We specialized in automating constituents email communications with Congress. My roles were as lead designer, general manager, and fund-raiser.

The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG.com) is one of the oldest and arguably most accurate data mining and numerical algorithm software providers. I led business and technical negotiations on NAG's largest west coast ISV and OEM deals, including PeopleSoft (now Oracle), Manugistics, Fair Isaac, and DemandTec.

Member of corporate and technology spinout task force: Assisted in spin-out business planning, introductions to venture investors and crafting messaging for many Apple developers' fund-raising presentations.

Wrote the b-plan, negotiated licenses, managed overall development, secured advances, and published RoundBook’s Computer Education Series (i.e., Windows, C/C++ Programming I & II) for retail and OEM bundling with Prentice-Hall. BYTE magazine called it, "a remarkable programming resource." - see http://www.byte.com/art/9502/sec6/art3.htm. Closed $750K in distribution advances for retail sales. Raised $1.5 million from angel and venture investors. Successfully negotiated $45 million in content deals (estimate by investment bankers at Van Kasper & Co.) with a wide variety of partners, including some of the biggest names in book publishing (e.g., Prentice Hall, McGraw Hill, Thompson, etc.), museums (e.g., The Met, Pushkin, Hermitage, etc.), and entertainment (e.g., Pete Townshend, The Who, Elton John and Bernie Taupin, The Jefferson Starship, etc. and their entourages of agents, handlers, lawyers, etc.).

Managed three software teams and negotiated 20 B2B production and distribution deals for CD-ROM/PDA multimedia titles for B2C sales to consumer markets, including The Mayo Clinic Family Health Book, with over five million discs sold individually and in bundles.

Last I checked, Quantum Corp acquired Meridian Data in a stock swap. Beginning as the sole outside sales person in late 1986, I did direct sales, recruiting, and sales training of the #1 CD-ROM networking and pre-mastering systems sales force, involving over $50 million in purchase agreements and federally regulated contracts in less than four years with organizations ranging from the Fortune 500 to government agencies, the military, and university library markets. Prior to Meridian, I was a software engineer in Silicon Valley for five years.
