My primary responsibilities include managing and supervising the Value Added Measurement (VAM) staff inside the Bureau of Accountability. The team and I continue in the development, calculation and dissemination of the VAM scores, the measures for the Annual Preparation Program Report (APPR), the development and calculations for the annual juvenile justice schools accountability reports and assist in the annual school grade reports and school graduation calculations for districts, schools and teachers throughout the state of Florida. These responsibilities require creating extensive SAS scripts, overseeing applications specific to the processes, assisting in research designs, project management, statistical analysis, report writing, editing, and presentations for DOE leadership, state and district staff, and state representatives.

As the Director of Data Management, my primary responsibilities include: maintaining all databases; coding scripts for the purposes of copying, merging, creating, editing, aggregating, updating, exporting, computing and analyzing any data in any format; maintaining network functionality and security, servers, computers, MS Exchange and back-up solutions; maintaining the JRC website; creating on-line information systems and dashboard reporting systems; and assisting in research designs, project management, statistical analysis, report writing, editing, graphic designing, and presentations. These responsibilities have required the following professional skills: SPSS, T-SQL, ASP.NET, VB, JavaScript, Fusion, HTML, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, IIS, SQL, Exchange, Group Policy Management, VMWare, and configuration knowledge regarding Microsoft SBS, XP, and 7.0 operating systems.

I was responsible for conducting administrative special projects, management reports and various statistical reporting using SPSS including the statewide Outcome Evaluation Report. I provide consultation on specialized project developments including the DJJ statewide information system, preparing various research designs for conducting evaluations of programs and services and making recommendations to agency officials based on the research findings. I prepare a variety of exception reports to facilitate accurate data collection processes as a bureau representative to the Data Integrity Officers, analyze data for outcome-based reporting, and prepare monthly extracts from the statewide information system for aggregate data reporting. In addition, I train department employees in the following computer operation: SPSS, Visual Basic 6.0, Access, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
