Primarily responsible for maintaining, updating and amending the Hamilton County Basic Emergency Operations Plan. Represent Hamilton County EMA in numerous meetings and sit on several committees and/or boards relative to emergency management or infrastructure protection. Served at Incident Command Post in aftermath of 2011 tornadoes and was ultimately assigned position of Incident Commander. At my suggestion, a long term recovery committee was formed following the 2011 tornadoes that assisted numerous families/ individuals in achieving pre-tornado living standard. Regularly make presentations to local businesses and nonprofits regarding business continuity planning. Have assisted numerous businesses, faith-based organizations and child care centers in developing emergency plans. Acting on own initiative, created the new Hamilton County Emergency Management website www.hamiltonready.org , presented same to Director and was approved for publication following Mayor’s approval. Have incorporated “whole community” approach to planning and have, as a result, developed or strengthened many relationships throughout the community. Served as InfraGard President for three years. Currently maintain over two dozen FEMA training certifications.

Was responsible for development of comprehensive emergency management plan for United Way that effectively interfaced with existing Emergency Support Function 15 responsibilities relative to the Escambia County, FL Emergency Management Plan. Assist with implementation of plan. Served as representative of United Way to emergency management community. Served as lead United Way ESF-15 liaison at County Emergency Operations Center during times of activation. Represented United Way membership at Local Mitigation Strategy Team meetings.Was a founding member of BRACE, a non-profit, COAD-type organization that became the the single most recognized organization in the United States by FEMA through the Individual and Community Preparedness Awards program.
