Momentum is an immersive, 16-week, full-stack code school specializing in React, JavaScript, Django, Python, HTML and CSS.I gained experience and knowledge of core coding languages through coursework designed for practical application.With a team of four incredible people and developers, I helped design and build a functional web application for the CityGate Dream Center, a non-profit organization based in Burlington, NC. I was on the front-end team and we used React, JavaScript and Tailwind to build out the front-end.

I created challenging, engaging lessons that were flexibly tailored to meet varying students’ needs, thus resulting in successful student level gains. Awarded 15 level gain certificates to these incredibly hard working (and happy) students within the past year alone. I also kept detailed, organized attendance records and entered those records promptly to the online database to help keep the state auditors happy and our program funded. I supervised a team of three other instructors, trained one new instructor, and assisted three Elon University students with their service learning projects over the course of two semesters. I adapted quickly and effectively to an online classroom setting due to COVID-19. I had to learn how to implement online learning programs as well as hold regular, bi-weekly Zoom and Blackboard Collaborate meetings. As a result of effective communication, we retained 50% of the student population.I served in the Professional Learning Community and completed a 10 week NCCCS Hybrid Core Professional Development course.

Since I was well versed in multiple departments, I trained staff in each department improving inventory goals. I maintained excellent relationships between wine and beer distributors and their respective drivers to create an effective work environment for both parties. I also organized a successful weekly wine tasting.
