When I was 22 I completed a 7 mile run through a mountain pass along the crest of the Tucson Mountains. This wasn't a voluntary activity. Instead, it was the last physical and mental test of perseverance as my grueling 3 month training at the police academy was coming to a close. While I was running, I thought about quitting a handful of times. But despite the heat, mental and physical fatigue, and the steep mountain inclines, I kept going. I'm that guy. Keep going, and get the job done. That was a long time ago.Now I put that perseverance to work as a Quality and Compliance Manager for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. I don't have to run through any mountains, but I work hard to move mountains for all employees who work for the Arizona Center and the kids we serve. I'm well versed in adolescent behavioral health services, trauma informed care, positive behavior interventions and supports, and I love what I do. Servant Leadership principles assist me in doing what I love by putting people first day in and day out.When I'm not on the job, I enjoy playing guitar and bass, reading, and working on home projects.
