Profile bio

About Greg Fall

Originally trained as an atmospheric scientist, I design, build, and maintain operational systems for monitoring and analyzing snow across the continental United States. More formally, I'm an experienced geoscientist specializing in the design, development, implementation, and operation of geospatial modeling and data assimilation systems to address national (U.S.) and international challenges in water and weather prediction. I enjoy applying my abilities to assemble varied, sometimes diverse historical and real-time information into analyses that can deliver valuable, actionable information to a broad range of users, from the general public to emergency managers and policymakers. I've built systems that address complex questions about food security and water management, as well as systems that can be used to verify winter weather forecasts and accurately assess snowfall events on a continental scale.I've been fortunate to work with a great team at the National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC) for many years, and I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with this group of colleagues. I'm an enthusiastic and conscientious researcher and data analyst, an experienced and effective team leader, a highly skilled software engineer, and an exceptional writer and public speaker.

Listed skills include Distributed Systems and Data Analysis.
