The Fire & Security Global Material Productivity & VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) Principal Engineer is responsible for championing Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) and reductions in material cost of parts and products across Carrier’s Fire and Security business unit.• Champion and lead VAVE activities and global cost reductions across the Fire and Security business unit.• Lead/facilitate and execute VAVE events globally, coordinating and indirectly managing resources across global business units to execute VAVE activities and achieve cost reduction targets for the organization. • Provide subject-matter expertise in design for value and cost, assisting in the evaluation and implementation of key cost-out projects, as identified during the year. • Deliverables will include a pipeline of vetted, ready-to-implement cost-savings opportunities for the business.

o • Set the vision and direct the Global Procurement and Supply Chain Activities for the US Distribution center and the 2 Mexican Manufacturing Locations with an 8 person supply chain team. Lead the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, programs, and objectives related to supply chain management to support the customer.• Direct supplier development and relationship and contract negotiations for US, Mexican, Asian and European Suppliers for new product development and ongoing production. Developed and maintained partnerships with major customers’ supply chain teams to exceed their expectations.• Led risk management efforts for the function, supporting business unit objectives by defining a supply chain strategy in a high mix, low volume environment. Ensured risk management processes and commitment reporting are in place. • Major Commodities: Engineering Plastic Resins, Plastic Injection Molding, Die Casting, Paint, Plating, PVD, Stampings (Progressive Die and Soft), Pad Printing, Inbound Freight (Freight Forwarders, and Truck Transportation (LTL)).

Responsible for stakeholder management (Director/Sr. Director and other functional executives) in the assigned organizational scope. Inform and advise relevant stakeholders about important trends in the supplier market, commodities market, and competitor sourcing strategies, as well as innovation, emerging technologies, and other critical to success items. Develop strategies for Product Management, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Commodity Managers in areas related to Value Engineering, Supply Base Capabilities, Design for Excellence, Emerging Technologies, Risk, and New Product Introduction for the Commodity Cluster Mechanical (raw materials (metals & plastics) and the fabrication and assembly of metals & plastics)). Utilize Lean techniques, knowledge of manufacturing techniques, Risk Management Processes, and cost modeling to benchmark current and potential suppliers for future growth.

Responsible driving performance improvement for Philips Lighting’s North American Steel/Metals supply chain (Tier 1 and Tier 2) to reduce the total cost of ownership. Lead Commodity Teams to optimize Spend Management, to develop robust Contracts, to consolidate and manage the Supply Base, while continuously improving Supplier Quality & Sustainability efforts.

Plan, direct, and develop a 6 person procurement team responsible for $80M annual BOM and Indirect spend to drive lower production costs and improve cash flow. To drive the lower costs, methods of lean, value chain mapping, and 6 sigma were utilized to lower lead times and inventory while negotiating with the supply base for a win/win solution to lower BOM procurement costs.
