Direct supervision of ATF law enforcement operations within a seventy (70) county area in the state of Kansas. Supervised a group of ATF special agents and local Task Force Officers that carried out the law enforcement duties in the assigned area. Task Force Officers included members of the Wichita Police Department, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office, and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. Cases worked included explosives, arson, firearms, narcotics, and long term undercover cases.Received second award of the ATF Distinguished Service Medal.Attended ATF's Leadership Skills for New Supervisors course during this period.

Responsible for the enforcement of Federal firearms, explosives, and arson laws. Assisted in the prosecutions of defendants in all of these case areas. Employed numerous investigative techniques to include static and mobile surveillance, public and Law enforcement data sources, confidential informants, technical equipment, and undercover operations. Also assigned as a Tactical Operations Officer, and was responsible for the installation and operation of various overt and covert electronic surveillance equipment arrays. Assisted the assigned Communications Specialist in performing preventative maintenance on bureau communications equipment such as base station radios and repeaters.Received numerous citations and awards, to include the ATF Distinguished Service Medal. Attended basic Criminal Investigator course, ATF New Agent Professional Training, Post Blast Investigative Training, and Advanced Undercover training during this period.

Responsible for enforcing Immigration laws of the United States. Primarily worked in the Alien Criminal Apprehension Program, where criminal aliens were arrested and charged with being in the country illegally. Involved with the implementation of the Law Enforcement Support Office program in the San Mateo County Sheriff's office, the first of its kind in the San Francisco Bay Area. Also assigned as a firearms Range Safety Officer. Attended Immigration Officer Basic Training Course at the Federal Law Enforcement Center, where I received the Distinguished Academic Award for the Operations section of the course.
